Setting the stage for growth during one of the toughest chapters in our history, the 2021 TRACS (Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability) Summit focuses on Hope for the Future.

As humanity continues to face unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, it is important that we as a community and as humanity undergo a paradigm shift — a shift that that prepares us to avoid or deal with the next disaster and causes us to have hope for the future.

How can we do that? By recognizing that all our challenges must be solved on three levels simultaneously:

  • Equity
  • Economy
  • Environment
  • This is the essence of sustainability and is demonstrated beautifully in the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year, the annual TRACS Summit will provide educational opportunities for students, faculty, staff and community members across Texas on five specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that address hunger, health, education, inequality, and climate change.

Hope for the Future TRACS Summit 2021 will focus on:

  • SDG-2: No Hunger
  • SDG-3: Good Health & Wellbeing
  • SDG-4: Quality Education
  • SDG-10: Reduced Inequalities
  • SDG-13: Climate Action
